Cobalt blue globe form decorated with a spiralling shoal of fish, one-off piece by Julia Linstead

Julia’s one-off pieces are all hand blown and include swathes of colour that suggest movement and light within the glass.

This cobalt blue form was inspired by the defensive, swirling, ball some fish swim into when they are threatened. The glass has been blown into a globe form with a vortex of glass and colour rippling down from the rim. The outside surface is covered with dozens of little fish spiralling up towards the rim. The pattern is hand drawn and sandblasted into the surface of the glass, so each piece is completely unique.
