Blue and silver rippled form with fish, one-off piece by Julia Linstead

Julia’s one-off pieces are all hand blown and include swathes of speckled colour and silver leaf that suggest movement and light within the glass. Julia also manipulates the hot glass to produce flowing curves within the piece.

This blue and green form is decorated with a small shoal of fish swimming across the wave like form of the glass. They are etched on both surfaces of the glass and the drifts of fine cobalt and green colour combine to give an extra dimension to the image. The images have been sandblasted through a surface layer of cool blue glass and the depth of the blasting creates different tones.

Hand blown lead crystal bowl

The pattern is hand drawn and sandblasted into the surface of the glass, so each piece is completely unique.
